The James Webb Space Telescope has discovered exoplanet GJ 1214 b, situated 48 light-years away in the constellation Ophiuchus. This planet has a dense carbon dioxide atmosphere, presenting a unique structure between Earth-like and Neptune-like planets. Its extreme conditions challenge current planetary formation models and open new avenues for exploring the universe's diverse planetary types.
