
Nasa's Johnson Space Center has finally opened a canister filled with ancient asteroid dust, an endeavor that has challenged the team since the canister landed in Utah's desert four months ago. The removal of two fasteners marked a pivotal moment in accessing the precious samples from the 4.6 billion-year-old asteroid Bennu, with slight chance of Earth impact by 2300.
