Laser epilation, also known as laser hair removal, has been found to reduce the risk of recurrence in patients with pilonidal disease, according to researchers at Nemours Children's Health. Pilonidal disease is a painful condition that affects the area between the buttocks. The study found that patients who received laser epilation in addition to standard treatment had a significantly lower recurrence rate compared to those who received standard treatment alone. However, the procedure is currently not covered by most insurance providers.
